So I decided to take a Camp Host gig up in the High Sierra for the summer! Still doing web work while I’m up here but have kept my clientele low for the summer so I can actually enjoy being out here. The work is easy and outdoors, I get to meet awesome campers everyday, I’m learning about the wildlife and plant life up here, and best of all I’m going on backpacking trips every chance I get. I’m pretty new to the backpacking world but have wanted to get into it for a long, long time. Thankfully, my partner in crime is the best support and mentor for tackling the world of backpacking. We just got back from an epic trip from Edison Lake to Florence Lake and I almost didn’t want to come back! Staying stationary for the summer isn’t so bad when it’s a place like this.
QUESTION:
Have you ever been up to the High Sierra? Got any recommendations on places to see around here so I can check them out before the summer is over?
I use to love to camp up there but haven’t been in years I guess I will have to make time to get back up there. glad you are having a good time while i’m cooped up in the damn city! LOL
We RV camped at Rock Creek Lake every summer growing up.
Did backpacking trips into the Hilton Lakes Valley and the Little Lakes Valley which are both accessible from the Rock Creek Lake.
The Rock Creek Lodge has a Facebook page and hire summer help.
Got any contact information for up there? Let me know! Thanks!
